The Hunger Games, The Guidance of Haymitch Still Calls

From Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment, All five Hunger Games films are back in cinemas for a limited time only. I got the chance to experience the first Hunger Games film, and what came to my mind was how much the mentorship of Haymitch Abernathy  plays a role of leadership throughout the franchise. Haymitch, played by Woody Harrelson (After the Sunset, Zombieland), supports  Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark as they build resilience and a competitive identity leading into the games. Katniss was iconically played by Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle, Joy), and Peeta was captured by Josh Hutcherson (Zathura, Bridge to Terabithia). The reason why Haymitch matters is because the newest Hunger Games is bound to focus on the era of Haymitch with the games.

Before the film, director Francis Lawrence talks about how the next film The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping goes deeper into the characterizations of the times many years before the days of Katniss and Peeta. The landscape and dynamics of heroes, politics, and does have a brief introduction before the film begins. Each film will have a moment of discussion throughout the week. There is always a key moment to take in aimed at the next Hunger Games before the moment to revisit any of the previous Hunger Games films. The games feel like an ultimate rematch waiting to be reborn.

Worth the time?
